job description

At Downtown we have a strong vision to grow and disciple the next generation in our church. With over 200+ students from birth to high school the opportunities are abundant for us to help our students experience the W.O.R.D. Made Flesh. We believe that student interns have both talent & ideas that can help us fulfill that vision.

Vision: To be the W.O.R.D. Made Flesh. To be Worshipful, Obedient, Relational, Disciple-Makers
Position: Student Ministry Intern
Timeframe: Spring 2027

As the Student Ministry Intern, you’ll serve on the Admin side of our Student Ministries, helping prepare curriculum, arts & crafts, and organizing logistics for many of our student ministry events. This isn’t a traditional “Children’s Ministry” or “Youth Ministry” Internship and is more “behind-the-scenes.” Your administrative work and organizational skills will help support the 75 teachers in our Children’s Ministry and the 40 volunteers in our Youth Ministry. Throughout the semester you’ll help lay the groundwork for some important moments in the life of our congregation including…

  • Sunday Bible Class

  • Wednesday Bible Class

  • Teen Leadership Conference

  • Winterfest

  • Scripture Recitation Sunday

  • And so much more!

This position offers flexible hours (10 hours a week) and requires no away-trips. The internship will run with the school year (exact start date to be discussed during interviews) with the opportunity to begin training in Fall 2026 should you choose so. During the internship, students will be expected to hold regular office hours and will have access to a dedicated office on campus during their hours. Pay will be negotiated in interviews and will be in accordance with Downtown’s Apprentice & Internship Program.
