Downtown Church
our vision is to be the
W.O.R.D. Made Flesh
job description
Creative Media (a ministry of the Downtown Church) seeks to create media that connects our congregation, invites our community, points to Christ, and reflects the W.O.R.D. Made Flesh. We believe that student interns have both talent & ideas that can help us fulfill that vision.
Vision: To be the W.O.R.D. Made Flesh. To be Worshipful, Obedient, Relational, Disciple-Makers
Position: Media & Social Media Intern (specifically assigned to Downtown Singing)
Timeframe: Fall ‘26 - Spring ‘27
As a Media Production Intern, you’ll be responsible for creating many of the posts and media elements that we use for Downtown Singing. This will include using a wide variety of skills including Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, and Marketing. The goal is for our Social Media strategy to support and build towards our in-person Sunday Night strategy with Downtown Singing.
Depending on the time of year, and the needs of Downtown Singing, projects can range from small elements used in a singular post, to entire media packages for events or special weekends. For large packages and projects, you have the opportunity and influence the voice, creative direction, and vision for these projects all while supporting the mission and vision of the organization. During your time as an intern, you’ll have access to a church provided computer (Mac) equipped with the full Adobe Suite of software. You’ll also have access to a wide variety of stock media libraries to aid you in your work. All projects you work on during your internship can be included in your portfolio and may also fulfill specific class projects as well. Students should have a basic understanding of Graphic Design, Video Production, and Marketing. We do not expect applicants to have “lots” of experience in all design fields, but rather, we expect applicants to be willing to try new things and learn new skills.
With this position, you can expect about 7 hours of work a week. Pay will be negotiated in interviews and will be in accordance with Downtown’s Apprentice & Internship Program.
We will have a retreat to kick off the semester. Unless negotiated before hiring, we ask all interns to be in attendance for the full duration of the retreat. More information about the retreat will be provided during interviews.
