salvation

All humans need salvation because all have sinned. Sin separates us from God whodesires relationship with us all. It is impossible for any human to restore that broken relationship with God on their own. Salvation is not earned, merited, or achieved by any amount of personal goodness, religious deeds, or by belonging to a church. We are saved by grace through faith in what Jesus accomplished through his death, burial, and resurrection. We receive the gift of salvation by repenting of our sins, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, and being immersed (baptized in water) into his death, burial, and resurrection.

(Isaiah 59:2; John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 2:37-39; Romans 3:10, 11, 23; Romans 6:3-4; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 3:3-8)

what is baptism?

Baptism isn’t just a duty to perform; it is a beauty to behold. The Bible teaches that in baptism, a person chooses to be baptized into the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. By being submerged in water, the former self dies—just as Jesus died. By rising out of the water, a new life begins—just as Jesus was resurrected. In baptism, we receive the gift of eternal life and the gift of the Holy Spirit living inside us.

step 1

study

See what the Bible teaches about Jesus and what it means to be his follower. Choosing to be baptized means you choose to put your trust in him and choose to follow his teachings about all things, including baptism.

Confused? Have questions? Curious? We’d love to read the Bible with you and answer any questions you have. Just click the button below to schedule a Bible Study with a Minister.

step 2

decide & respond

Baptism can happen anytime, anywhere. Whether it’s at a lake, river, backyard pool, or at the church building, your decision to accept what Jesus did on your behalf is the most important part of the process. When you can answer “YES” to the following questions, you are ready to put Jesus on in baptism.

  1. Beliefs: Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Do you believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross for your sins, and was raised from the dead on the third day? Do you believe that Jesus did everything needed for your sins to be forgiven?

  2. Confession: Are you ready to confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior?

  3. A Trusting Relationship: Are you ready to die to yourself and live a new life? Are you ready to commit to following and obeying Jesus in a trusting relationship?

step 3

celebrate the new

The decision to follow Jesus is the most significant and consequential decision you will ever make, and we want to celebrate BIG with you! Anytime someone makes the decision to put Jesus on in baptism, we like to announce it, celebrate it, and pray with them during our Sunday worship. You can also expect some ministers, Shepherds, and new friends to reach out and celebrate even more with you!
