How can Downtown help me and my family?

We recognize that families come in all shapes and sizes: single parent families, blended families, families with stay at home moms, even families of just one person. A lot of our ministries are designed specifically for the various stages of life to be found in most families, such as children, youth, university, young adults, MOPS for Mothers of Preschoolers, Men's and Women's Ministries. What most of us need though, regardless of our situation, is a place to connect and to feel like we belong. Make sure you find a "Small Group" to belong to - a small group of people that meet weekly to support and care for eachother.

We’ve gone to churches that functioned like a family: but not a healthy family. A family of the world, where siblings barely speak and each person is looking out for themselves. We’ve been places where calling someone from church when you are sick would be low on your list. Not at Downtown. Here we have found surrogate parents who are there to listen and give advice, and to serve as surrogate grandparents to our children. We have found friendships so rich that some people live their whole lives without finding. The relationships we have here enable us to be open about the mistakes we make and give us hands to hold during difficult times. Downtown is not perfect: no family is. Downtown is a place to worship, seek and serve God.  The eldership is committed to serving and encouraging each member, drawing us into a closer relationship with Christ.  The worship services are alive and uplifting, filled with spirit and truth.  I cannot imagine a better place to lead my family through this maze of life! - T Jones
